Purpose

Building friendships based on our mutual interest in fishing is the key to our success. We grow together as better fishermen and mature Christians.

Located on Old Hickory Lake in middle Tennessee, Reel Men of God began in 2004 as an outdoorsman outreach of the Men’s Ministry at Bluegrass Baptist Church in Hendersonville. Reel Men of God became an independent ministry, obtaining IRS 501(c)3 status in 2009.

We believe that by establishing friendships and trust with other men, we can share the love of Jesus Christ with them and their families.

Our Core Beliefs and God’s Plan for Salvation

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13)

Jesus Christ, the son of God and our best friend, died for each of us, so we will never die.

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

Jesus Christ died for us while we were still sinners (unholy and filthy in God’s eyes)

…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God… (Romans 3:23)

God is so holy and righteous, no human can compare to His purity. We are all sinners. It is impossible to earn your way to heaven.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

The result of sin is death, but God’s gift to us is eternal life. This gift is offered to every person, but each person must accept or deny that gift.

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (II Corinthians 5:21)

Jesus, who had no sin, took on our sin and died (the result of sin is death) so that we may appear righteous in the eyes of God. Jesus died for each of us so that we can accept the gift of eternal life from God.

That if you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9-10)

To accept God’s gift of eternal life, you must confess openly that Jesus is the Lord of all parts of your life and believe without a doubt in your heart that God raised him from the dead. Although Jesus died on the cross for our sins, God raised him from the dead on the third day. God has demonstrated his power over death, sin, and hell by raising Jesus from the dead. Later Jesus ascended directly into heaven, to sit at the right hand of God where we will meet him after our mortal life ends on earth.

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:13)

This is one of God’s many promises. If you call upon Jesus Christ the Lord to save you from a world of sin, you will be saved from death and eternity in hell, and spend the remainder of eternity living with Him in heaven.

God has demonstrated his unmatched love for us by sending his son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sin in our place. Jesus is the best friend you could ever have. Accept God’s gift of eternal life today. There is no guarantee of a tomorrow.
